Companies Working to Meet Carrier Demand for Fixed-Mobile Convergence Solutions
LG Electronics (LGE) and Kineto Wireless, Inc. (www.kineto.com), the key innovator and leading supplier of UMA Technology (Unlicensed Mobile Access), announced today the companies are collaborating to develop UMA-enabled cellular/Wi-Fi phones designed for Fixed-Mobile Convergence (FMC) solutions.

UMA Technology, the 3GPP standard for Cellular/Wi-Fi convergence, enables mobile operators to leverage the economic and performance advantages of Wi-Fi/IP access to pr ovide a dramatically im pr oved subscriber experience for mobile voice, data and IMS services.
A key part of the collaboration is that LGE has become a Kineto licensee and plans to include the Kineto UMA-compliant Handset Client software in future handsets.
