Companies Collaborate To Meet Carrier Demand For UMA-enabled Cellular/Wi-Fi Mobile Phones
Samsung Electronics (Samsung) and Kineto Wireless, Inc., (www.kineto.com) the key innovator and leading supplier of UMA Technology (Unlicensed Mobile Access), announced today that they have entered into an agreement where Samsung will license Kineto Wireless UMA technology for inclusion in future Samsung Cellular/Wi-Fi handsets.
UMA Technology, the 3GPP standard for Cellular/Wi-Fi convergence, enables mobile operators to leverage the economic and performance advantages of Wi-Fi/IP access to pr ovide a dramatically im pr oved subscriber experience for mobile voice, data and IMS services.
