KINETO DEVICE DEVELOPER PRODUCTS

Kineto Wireless is the leading supplier of 3G/2.5G UMA/GAN standards compliant device client software. The Kineto software is currently deployed in handsets from Samsung, BenQ, SIM Technology, LG Electronics and Foxconn/CMCS. For companies interested in developing devices, the Kineto software is currently available for mobile platforms from Comneon, Infineon, NXP (Philips), and Texas Instruments.

To support device and platform vendors with software integration support, Kineto provides an extremely comprehensive device developer program designed to accelerate UMA/GAN enabled devices to market.

Software consists of two client modules (Core, IP Adaptor) and two optional modules:

The Core Module which resides on base-band processor interacts with cellular RR/RLC/RRC layers.

The IP Adaptor Module which resides in IP subsystem and provides the interfaces with TCP, UDP, Wi-Fi & voice connection.

The optional Audio Processing Module, which may be provided by Kineto or the device developer, provides advanced VoIP packet processing and jitter buffer management designed to improve voice quality.

The IPSec Module, which may be an existing module on the platform or provided by Kineto, encapsulates the cellular circuit and packet traffic into the UMA standard IPSec VPN tunnel.

Software Features

Highly Portable
The Kineto client is highly portable, having been adapted to many mobile platforms to date, with a proven suite of porting tools. The software supports single and dual processor architectures to provide maximum device flexibility. The footprint is very small and can easily support 3G/2.5G cellular devices. The client also supports UMA-enabled femtocell, terminal adaptor and softmobile applications.

Optimized for Low PowerView Diagram
The Kineto UMA software has been optimized for low power consumption through a series of design elements. The client has a very low MIPS requirement, and leverages hardware sleep/stand-by modes. The client software has optimized Wi-Fi connection management and intelligent Wi-Fi radio control algorithms specifically designed to optimize the performance/power trade-offs of a dual-mode device.

Robust, Proven Design
The Kineto client has proven interoperability with every UMA Network Controller (UNC) available on the market today. The software supports dual-mode (cellular/Wi-Fi) and tri-mode (3G, 2.5G, Wi-Fi) operation today. The Kineto UMA software is fully compatible with SIP and IMS applications.

Kineto Device Developer Program

To assist device and platform vendors with the integration of the Kineto client, Kineto has developed a comprehensive program to shorten time-to-market. The Kineto Device Developer Program, unique to Kineto, provides a full complement of tools and resources designed to accelerate the integration process and get devices to market faster.

View DiagramThe Client Porting Guide is a central element of the program. With definition of APIs for all platform modules and details of protocol stack changes, the Client Porting Guide is updated regularly to capture the experience of previous porting projects. The guide also outlines requirements for 3G/2.5G UMA/GAN devices and system elements, as well as providing client integration and validation process.

Companies leveraging the developer's program get access to Proven Integration Tools including the UMA Network Simulator software designed to rapidly prototype devices. Kineto also provides advanced UMA trace/debug and validation tools to assist in integration. When the device/platform is ready, Kineto also makes available remote testing support over the internet against Kineto's UMA Network Controller.

Kineto Labs, located in Milpitas California, is a state of the art IOT and IODT lab facility where device and platform vendors can verify devices in a fully functional UMA-enabled mobile network. Device and platform developers receive hands-on support from Kineto’s highly-skilled and UMA/GAN-experienced engineers to ensure a complete and viable integration.
